San Pedro Martial Arts Academy brings more medals home this past Saturday. Check it out…

This Past Saturday our Kids Team went to battle for the last time in 2016 at the Dream BJJ Tournament.We want to Thank all the kids on our Program for training hard and never whining to get everyone ready for the competition. 

Jarry Sessions (yellow belt) took 1st place, defeating the same opponent twice in a very tough best of three bouts, Ethan Cook (white belt) took 2nd place in his debut scoring an awesome cross collar choke in his first match and Marina Iacono (grey belt) took 3rd place.

We are very proud for all the hard work and commitment of this young Samurai with dealing with preparations and adversities of training. Thank you all the parents as well for trusting your children in our Program.

San Pedro Jiu-Jitsu scores GOLD in San Francisco

On November 5th, Saturday last week, Clifton Teshima our brown belt and one of our most active competitors, scored a big 1st place at The IBJJF Worlds NoGi Championship in San Francisco. Clifton had two real tough matches against two very tough opponents and beating the Brazilian National NoGi Champion in the Final match of the Masters division.

 

As Clifton came back home with the Gold his accomplishments weren’t done… He also has gotten promoted “Shodan” (Black Belt) in Judo from our second home Gardena Judo Club.

Congratulations, Clif!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go, buddy…

Welcome 2016! We hope our students, coaches and staff had an awesome Holiday Season and a great New Year, but now is time to get back to work. Our journey never ends and it’s new year chapter starts tomorrow!

Classes will resume Monday (01/04/2016) at 4:45pm with the Jr’s Two class, followed by Teens BJJ at 5:50pm and the Adults BJJ All Levels at 7pm. We are excited to see everyone back on the mat this week…

The Holiday season is on and Christmas has just past. We hope all of you had a great one with your families and loved ones. The Christmas Open Mat (every year on 12/24 at 10am) once again was an awesome time and our Toy-Drive was also total success!!!

Right after our fun on the mats, Sensei Pedro every year takes a drive to ‘Children Hospital of Los Angeles’to deliver all the toys donated by our students and staff to the kids fighting for their lives. We would like to thank all of you that contributed with our cause. You all rock and we definitely made a difference one more Christmas!

 

 

Our 2015 Christmas Belt Ceremony Updates.

This past Saturday, December 19th of 2015, we hosted our traditional Christmas Belt Ceremony for all our students here at San Pedro’s Best Martial Arts School in San Pedro, CA. All the hard work, dedication and perseverance of our students pay off at the end of the year.

In this year’s edition of our Belt Ceremony Sensei Pedro Soriano had the pleasure to promote two more brown belts and two more blue belts in the Adults Program and a whole bunch of kids and teenagers also have gotten promoted. Among those promoted students was our dearest Coach Paulo Asato, Sensei Pedro’s right hand man on our PeeWee and Jr’s One Program, promoted to the rank of Brown belt.

During the Ceremony we also Awarded the “Student of the Year” for all Programs. Here is the list of 2015 Student of the Year:
